Campaign Against Living Miserably

Helena Nuttall

You may have seen through various Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn posts that The Notable are selling greeting cards for Christmastime. We’ve really enjoyed working on them and hope you are feeling just as excited as we are!

We have chosen CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) as the charity to which we will be sending 10% of all Christmas card profits.

The Campaign Against Living Miserably is a helpline that runs from 5pm to midnight helping those who feel they have reached a point of crisis. CALM stands with anyone and everyone and at any point within their lives. It is a leading campaign with the aim to prevent suicides as well as support those who have been bereaved by suicide.

CALM every single day does extraordinary work to empower individuals and show us all that everyone is deserving of self-worth and happiness, but sadly there are still on average 125 people in the UK dying by suicide each week, and more work needs to be done.

A drastic increase in demand for these services came about when our lives took a sharp turn in March and our country was forced into lockdown. From the fear of the health of ourselves and our loved ones to the personal and national financial concern; the detrimental effect the Coronavirus has already had on the nation’s mental health is unequivocal, and we perhaps aren’t even able to grasp right now the psychological toll that the events of this year will have. It is therefore essential that we have enough support in place at all times.

We would like to show our support for the welfare of the nation by choosing CALM.

Thank you,

The Notable x

2020 has not been an easy year, so make this Christmas extra Notable by sharing one of our hand-finished cards with someone you love.
